A Roanoke man has been charged with illegally videotaping partially naked
Police say 34 year old Paul Aronson was taping women in the restroom- at
the B & H Beauty Supply.

A Roanoke man who runs a beauty supply shop allegedly hid a video
camera in the women's restroom.
34-year-old Paul Aronson faces charges of videotaping partially naked women
without their consent.
His employee, Melanie Melton, found the camera in the restroom's ceiling.
Police say the tape shows Aronson adjusting the camera toward the toilet,
then a female customer using the bathroom.
Aronson says B-&-H Supply supervisors have told him not to talk.

Police say Melton had visited Aronson's home before -- and that he told
her he enjoyed making his own videos.
Police seized several tapes from Aronson's home.
He's scheduled to appear in court next month.
The store is closed.
Melton's mother refuses to let her daughter talk until she speaks to an
Drug smuggler Javier Cruz got all the headlines last year- -when word
leaked out that he'd been openly living in the Roanoke Valley while working
undercover for the D-E-A.
But he wasn't the only cocaine trafficker in our midst.
Keith Humphry takes a look at Cruz's boss- a man high up in the Colombian
drug trade- who also lived in the Roanoke Valley.

Supporters of anti- abortion activist Flip Benham are suing the city of
Lynchburg for the right to protest without a permit.
But as Steve Smallshaw reports, Lynchburg police don't plan to enforce that
ordinance when hundreds of protesters hit the pavement there next month.

With a March 13th rally just two weeks away, Reyes and Life Coalition
director Keith Tucci are suing the city of Lynchburg, claiming the ordinance
requiring groups to get a protest permit is unconstitutional.
Tucci said last week they would hold the rally anyway.

The F-B-I now says it can't confirm whether the suspect in the Alabama
Abortion Clinic bombing can be linked to three Atlanta bombings.
Agents do say that 31 year old Eric Robert Rudolph is wanted for the Alabama
Bombing. They say he could be hiding out in Western North Carolina.
The New York Times reported that two of the bombings-- one
at the Summer Olympics and another at
an abortion clinic in Atlanta -- had steel plates cut from the same
batch of metal.
That metal has been linked to a North Carolina factory where a
friend of the suspect in the Alabama bombing worked.
But the F-B-I spokesman says any connection between the cases is
still an open question.

Last weekend, police say a man raped an 80-year-old woman in Northwest
That man allegedly left a baseball hat at the crime scene.

Right now the hat has been turned over to the state crime lab, where

A Virginia Tech administrator who sued the campus newspaper has lost her
appeal to the state Supreme Court.
Sharon Yeagle is Tech's assistant to the Vice President for Student
But in an article last April, the Collegiate Times identified her as
"Director of Butt-Licking."
Yeagle filed suit, saying the newspaper damaged her reputation and caused
her shame, humiliation, embarrassment and financial loss.
In today's majority opinion, Justice Elizabeth Lacy acknowledged the
phrase was digusting, offensive, and in extremely bad taste. But Lacy said the
phrase could not be reasonably understood as an actual fact.
Danville has a new judge.

number five seed Roanoke College in the semi-finals.
