Since its startup a year ago, Claude Gunn's Hill City Renaissance Center has
certainly been going in the right direction.
Twelve tenants, most of them minority- owned businesses, now occupy portions
of the old Lynchburg Foundry office building in the Lower Basin. There
are other minority business incubators like this in the U.S.-- this is the only
one to start up without any financial help from the government.

Twice a week, the center also offers computer literacy classes.
Alongside their parents, inner city children are learning the basics of
Instructor Jim Henderson teaches the classes in exchange for free office
space.. the idea is to provide his students with the skills they'll need to
compete in a high- tech job marketplace.

CHAMPIONSHIPS. SO IN 1988 WE TOOK A CREW TO PHOENIX CITY, ALABAMA TO WORK THE

commissioner of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Though he held that job for more than 20 years and was the conference's
Wooldridge has also worn the hat of the Big East Conference's head official.
Not to mention his community service with the Rotary Club.

THEY'VE GIVEN BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND THE CONFERENCE HAS MADE 85-90,000

Wooldridge has spent years in the midst of the sports action both as a
player and referee.
His committment with the Big East conference ended when the last whistle was
blown in January's Bowl games.
Now you'll find him on the sidelines of the ODAC basketball tournament.
He had BOTH knees replaced in January, but the surgery hasn't sidelined this

The Global Hawk is an unmanned surveillance plane.
