In the early morning hours of Sunday, a Botetourt county sheriff's deputy
pulled Leonard Jenkins over after he suspected the man was driving drunk.
A short while later Jenkins was dead after he apparently shot at the
deputy.
Another deputy returned fire, but an autopsy today revealed that Jenkins
apparently died by his own hand.
Tina Tenret reports.

after being pulled over on Hardbarger Road early Sunday morning.
So Deputy Earnest Spiva called for backup and a breathalyzer -- but when he
approached the Ford pickup again, Jenkins shot Spiva twice in the chest.
Backup deputy Greg Hepler heard Jenkins fire a third shot, then Hepler shot
Jenkins in the head from behind the truck.
The sheriff says Hepler was right to shoot Jenkins.

Tech freshman Kevin Bice decides to go one better, getting his first homer
