County may NOT have been fired by a sheriff's deputy.

Good afternoon I'm Jean Jadhon.
The Buchanan man shot by the sheriff's deputy apparently killed himself
with a nine-millimeter pistol.

Tina Tenret is following the investigation.
Jean the medical examiner says Leonard Jenkins of Buchanan died of two
gunshot wounds -- a sheriff's deputy shot him on the right side of his head --
AND Jenkins shot himself in the mouth.
The medical examiner does not know for sure which shot came first --
but the suicidal gunshot killed Jenkins instantly.

28-year-old Leonard Brent Jenkins was pulled over for driving
erratically on Hardbarger Road early Sunday morning.
Deputy Earnest Spiva gave him field sobriety tests -- the sheriff says
Jenkins failed them all.
Then Deputy Spiva called for backup and a breathalyzer.
The sheriff says when Spiva approached the white Ford Ranger again
about 20 minutes later -- this time with backup -- Jenkins shot the officer
twice in the chest.
Backup Deputy Greg Hepler heard Jenkins fire a third time.
Then he shot Jenkins once in the head from behind the truck on the
The sheriff says Hepler acted correctly -- and was defending Spiva.

Jenkins who lived with his mother in a trailer in the Shorewood
community had been previously convicted for sexual battery, reckless driving,
three counts of larceny, and two counts of driving under the influence.
His mother was still in shock this afternoon and did not want to
Spiva -- the 23-year-old deputy who was shot -- was wearing a bulletproof
vest and will recover from his bruises. Both officers involved are on paid
administrative leave and will undergo counseling.

There was another man at the scene-- 24-year-old Brent Linkenhoker -- but
he was passed out on the front seat of the truck during the shootout. He was
charged with being drunk in public.
A court hearing for one brother... a funeral service for the other.
Henry County Sheriff's Deputies found Scott Stanley's body in the back
bedroom of his brother's home Friday.
And they say Jason Stanley is the one who pulled the trigger.
He's charged with second degree murder.

The Stanley family has made headlines before.
About a year ago, authorities say their father, William Dee Stanley, shot
and wounded Scott Stanley.
Dee Stanley is now serving jail-time on a firearms violations in connection
with that shooting.
A court hearing for Jason Stanley is set for Tuesday.
A funeral service for Scott Stanley is set for Wednesday.
After a five month search the FBI catches up with a man wanted for a
multi-million dollar armored car heist.
David Scott Ghantt is accused of the 17 million dollar van robberY last
He was a driver for the Loomis, Fargo company-
FBI agents caught up with Ghantt in Mexico where they say he was waiting
for the delivery of more money.

The bodyguard who survived the crash that killed Princess Diana now says he
remembers more about the accident.
Trevor Rees Jones told a London newspaper he heard a female voice coming
from the back seat-
Then he said Diana called out Dodi Al Fayed's name.
Rees-Jones also says he remembers the condition of driver Henri Paul. He
said I would never have let him near out car if he had shown any sign of being

The government is warning patients who are taking the powerful acne drug
Accutane it could be causing depression.
The maker of the drug say people with severe acne are at risk for depression
anyway, and there's no proof that Accutane contributes.
But Food and Drug Administration officials say about a dozen patients
became depressed while taking Accutane.
The F-D-A reports depression disappeared after they stopped the medication,
and recurred once they took it again.
Accutane already carries a warning that it can cause birth
Imagine waking up dozens of times a night-- just to take a breath of air.

disorder can interrupt more than just the patient's sleep.
Thanks Tonya. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a disorder in which a person's
upper airway closes during the later stages of sleep-- and they stop breathing.
When this happens, the brain has to wake them up in the middle of the night
to actually remind the body to breathe.

Eight year- old James Long has been suffering from the disorder for almost
half of his young life.
He used to wake up more than 100 times a night-- just to take a breath of

NIGHT THAT IS IRREGULAR, PUNCTUATED BY EPISODES IN WHICH THEY DON'T BREATHE,

PICKED UP BY THE SPOUSE OR OTHER BED PARTNER.))

Experts say between four and 12 percent of American adult men have sleep
But it's not only adults that are afflicted--
young James was a typical second grader until his mother Tracy discovered a
problem one night as he slept.

SAID JAMES, JAMES, AND HE WASN'T BREATHING. SO I TAPPED HIM AND HE STARTED

Tracy sat by him for hours, making sure he didn't stop breathing.
She made an audiotape and played it for his pediatrician.
After removing his tonsils and adenoids, his doctor eventually suggested he
try wearing a C-PAP.
C-PAP or, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, maintains constant pressure on
air passages during sleep.
James wears his every night.
Tracy says she finally feels James is his old self again--
And urges other parents to be aware of this relatively unknown condition.
