A mysterious diesel fuel spill in Roanoke yesterday morning left crews with a tedious clean-up task.
(----------------)
VO-NAT
SUPER=03-Roanoke;

A passerby noticed a sheen on Tinker Creek near the 400-block of Campbell Avenue.
Crews tried to contain the fuel, but the creek's fast-moving current made the job tough.
It's not known where the fuel came from.
Crews said it was a small amount and does not pose a serious environmental threat.
The Department of Environmental Quality has investigated spills in that area before and is working with Roanoke officials to find out what caused the spill.

The state senate is scheduled to review another bill today -- this time it's the so-called "informed consent" bill. It's set to go before the Senate Education and Health Committee.
The measure would require doctors to give medical information to women seeking an abortion at least 24 hours before the operation.
Violators would face a 25-hundred dollar fine.
The House already passed the bill.
Abortion rights supporters say the bill interferes with a woman's right to have an abortion.
