Crews worked for hours yesterday to clean up a diesel fuel spill in Roanoke.

A passerby noticed a sheen on Tinker Creek near the 400-block of Campbell
Avenue.
Crews tried to contain the fuel, but the creek's fast-moving current made the
job tough.
It's not known where the fuel came from.
Crews said it was a small amount and does not pose a serious environmental
threat.
The Department of Environmental Quality has investigated spills in that area
before and is working with Roanoke officials to find out what caused the spill.
