Movie Review 3/6
The loud disco music soundtrack is almost as important a player in New Line Cinema's "The Wedding Singer" as are its stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It's the mid-eighties and Sandler is Robbie Hart, a musician who makes his living singing at wedding receptions where he encourages the guests to dance and defuse potential problems. He's a very good wedding singer until his fiance stands him up at his own wedding. In a downward spiral he is coerced into helping a young waitress, Drew Barrymore, plan her wedding to real jerk. The inevitable happens and the rest of the movie consists of contrivances to keep the two potential lovers apart. "The Wedding Singer" gets a B. It's sweet and effortless, but the only surprise is an unexpected appearance by an 80s rock icon. cutopen

With one signature a bill to notify people when a sex offender is released from prison could become law.

Schools, child-care centers, foster homes and people seeking child care would be told when a violent offender is freed.
