They were convicted of torturing their four year old daughter to death, and now a Dickenson County couple have received the maximum sentence for the crime.

The couple's daughter, Annie Leftwich, died after she was gagged and tied to a urine-soaked mattress last spring.
Her body was covered with bruises and puncture wounds.
The case prompted the General Assembly to pass "Annie's Law" -- a law that makes it a capital crime to torture a child to death.

Three days ago an Operation Rescue member went into the school's bookstore and ordered "Age of Innocence".. a book containing what many feel are pornographic images of young children.
Liberty later cancelled the order and returned the money.

Some are calling for the resignation of both father and son--but Chief Wilmer notes they have already offered to quit, but their fellow firefighters will not accept the offer.

It happened yesterday in Corona, California, about 50 miles from Los Angeles.
Debris plunged into a house and condominium about a-half mile apart, igniting raging fires.
Officials say the bodies of two men were found at the condominium and a third body was found at the home.

He says tests show fumes from a nearby chimney may have caused the reactions.
12 students were treated at nearby medical centers.
