They were convicted of torturing their four year old daughter to death, and now a Dickenson County couple have received the maximum sentence for the crime.

Elizabeth Jessie and her husband, Kenneth, will each spend 50-years in prison.
The couple's daughter, Annie Leftwich, died after she was gagged and tied to a urine-soaked mattress last spring.
Her body was covered with bruises and puncture wounds.
The case prompted the General Assembly to pass "Annie's Law" -- a law that makes it a capital crime to torture a child to death.

The Anti-abortion group, angry at Jerry Falwell for not supporting a jailed activist, is accusing the evangelist of allowing child pornography to be sold on the university's campus.
Three days ago an Operation Rescue member went into the school's bookstore and ordered "Age of Innocence".. a book containing what many feel are pornographic images of young children.
Liberty later cancelled the order and returned the money.

17 year old Matt Wilmer was convicted of setting the fire that burned a barn last year.
Wilmer is the son of Fire Chief Stephen Wilmer.

Matt continues working with the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, and that has angered some residents.
Some are calling for the resignation of both father and son--but Chief Wilmer notes they have already offered to quit, but their fellow firefighters will not accept the offer.
Wilmer says his son made a mistake but is now trying to serve the community.

In California, three people are dead after a mid-air collision involving two small planes.

It happened yesterday in Corona, California, about 50 miles from Los Angeles.
Debris plunged into a house and condominium about a-half mile apart, igniting raging fires.
Officials say the bodies of two men were found at the condominium and a third body was found at the home.
There are no reports of any casualties on the ground.

He says tests show fumes from a nearby chimney may have caused the reactions.
12 students were treated at nearby medical centers.

If you're searching for sea shells, the mountains would probably be about the last place you'd look.

Many date back 350 million years.
Best of all, you don't need to be an expert with a pick or a shovel to find them.
