Yesterday a federal juge in Arkansas threw out Jones' sexual harassment lawsuit saying it falls far short of being worth a trial.

Thousands are still without power after a tornado ripped through central Virginia last night.
The twister left behind only the foundation and front porch of this two story house and took the lives of the mother and newborn inside.

The dead have been identified as 39 year old Sheila Giles and 13 week old Jeremiah.
The twister emerged from a line of severe thunderstorms that crossed the central and nothern portions of the state damaging homes and downing power lines and trees.

Now to new allegations of beatings at Virginia Military Institute.
Attorneys for three freshmen have made public-- documents in which the freshmen and three seniors admit beatings took place.
The documents are part of a student run honor committee probe that will be heard next week.
These are the second public allegations this academic year of upperclassmen spanking freshmen with belts.

A V-M-I spokesman says there's NO proof beatings are widespread -- and they will NOT be tolerated.
The sentence is in for the alleged U-V-A stalker.
24-year-old Christopher McAllister, a former U-V-A student, was sentenced to 65 years behind bars yesterday, with 32 years suspended.
McAllister was convicted of attempted rape and several break-ins during the 1994-95 school year at U-V-A.
He is already serving time in his home state of New Jersey after pleading guilty to several charges of rape and burglary there.
A French court today convicted a former Cabinet minister for crimes against humanity for arresting and deporting Jews during World War Two.
Eighty seven year old Maurice Papon (pa-PAWN') was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The verdict came after a six-month trial -- the longest in France's history.
Papon was charged with ordering the arrests and deportations of nearly 17-hundred Jews who were to die in Nazi death camps.
California authorities are offering an 85 thousand dollar reward to find out who's setting off bombs in Northern California.
Since Sunday three bombs have exploded in the city of Fremont.
Two more were found and later detonated.
The first blew a ten foot hole in the home of the police chief.
Another was found on the walkway leading to the home of the chief's predecessor, now a city councilman.
Two other bombs were found in a neighborhood full of million dollar homes.
One of two men wanted in connection with a two state shooting spree is dead, the other in police custody.
The shootings began yesterday in Indiana and ended in Illinois.
When it was all over four people were dead and a fifth wounded.

A Henry County high school teacher faces allegations that he had sex with a student.
Keith Doty (DOE-TEE) has been suspended from his job at Fieldale- Collinsville High School.
He faces five misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
School officials contacted the Henry County Sheriff's Office when they learned of Doty's alleged relationship with the 16 year old girl.
Doty was hired as a communications technology teacher in January, 1995.

Former heavyweight boxing champ Oliver McCall was arrested last night for allegedly punching a Martinsville police officer.
Court records show McCall was charged with felony assault and battery for hitting Officer Steve Burton.
He was also charged with resisting arrest and damaging property.
He is being held at the Martinsville City Jail under ten thousand dollars bond.
McCall has been previously charged with driving under the influence, disorderly conduct, and assault.
