A potential safety problem is prompting the National Transportation Safety Board to recommend the inpections of thousands of passenger planes.
Following up on new findings concerning the crash of T-W-A flight 800, the board has urged the F-A-A to check the wiring on 7-47's and most of the Boeing fleet as soon as possible.

Western State Hospital is refusing to disclose how often it straps patients down or places them in solitary confinement.
The Staunton mental hospital's director says the information sought by the state Department of Rights of Virginians with Disabilities is protected.
The Justice Department has criticized the use of seclusion and restraints at two other state mental hospitals and is discussing similar concerns about Western State with Attorney General Mark Earley.
A Central State patient died in June 1996 after a lengthy period in restraints.

A Maryland man apparently has found a way to get out of D-U-I convictions,-- he fakes his own death.
Virginia police say Peter Gentry sent a forged death certificate to a court just before his D-U-I trial in 19-91.
