The 12 year old was lured away from her Church in Charlotte Sunday and found bound and gagged several hours later on the side of the road.
Charlotte police arrested 41-year-old Robin Wayne Martin yesterday after receiving a tip.
At the time of last weekend's assault, Martin was out on bond.

In September he was convicted ofsexual assault and taking indecent liberties with a minor.
The case involved children ages six and eight.

He'll go to Kentucky to meet with both tobacco growers and public health experts.

Montgomery County firefighters responded to an accidental structure fire in Riner around 11 o'clock last night.

The rear of the two story structure on childress Road was fully involved when help arrived.
It took about an hour to get the blaze extinguished.
Fire officials suspect A.C. Duncan's home caught fire because of a kerosene heater he had left in the bathroom when he went to bed.
They say the heater either malfunctioned or was near something and sparked the blaze.
Duncan escaped the fire unharmed.
No one else was in the house with him.
Damage estimates to the home have not been disclosed.

The owner, Fred Calloway, wasn't home when the fire started.
Authorities believe it began in the basement, where Calloway works on gas engines.

A man convicted in the bombing that mutilated a Christiansburg prosecutor is headed home.

Frank Dewease has been living in a halfway house after being released from prison.
He was convicted in 19-73 of planting a dynamite filled can on the car belonging to then Commonwealth's attorney Pat Graybeal.
Graybeal had prosecuted DeWease for murdering his wife before the blast.
He lost both hands in the explosion. Dewease admits to killing his wife but says he's innocent in the bombing.
He now plans to return to Montgomery County.

A federal judge has overturned the death sentence of a Danville man convicted in a 1985 fatal robbery.
Terry Williams was sentenced to die for killing Harris Stone in a robbery that netted three dollars.
But U-S District Judge James Cacheris of Alexandria struck down the sentence, citing the failure of Williams' trial lawyer to submit evidence that Williams was abused as a child and came from an alcoholic family.

The ticket entitles the winner to five thousand dollars a month for LIFE.
