Police say she's on life support, in extremely critical condition. She has no brain activity, and if nothing changes, family members are expected to terminate life support within the next day.

Saunder's boyfriend, 37-year old David Lee Mason was arraigned on malicious wounding charges yesterday afternoon
Prosecutors say they're prepared to upgrade those charges if the victim dies.

Khmer Rouge officials say Pol Pot died in his sleep last night in northern Cambodia.
Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge were blamed for the slaughter of two million people during their rule, when Cambodia became known as the killing fields.
The Cambodian government is demanding an autopsy saying there are too many concidences surrounding the death.
Pol Pot was 73.

New test results show that a Botetourt County man who killed himself in a shootout with sheriff's deputies was drunk.

The medical examiner confirms 28-year-old Leonard Brent Jenkins was driving drunk on the morning of March first.

Deputy Earnest Spiva pulled him over -- the sheriff says Jenkins shot the deputy twice in the chest then fatally shot himself.
Backup deputy Greg Hepler also shot Jenkins once in the back of the head.
Jenkins died almost immediately -- Spiva was not seriously injured and both deputies are back at work.
State police are investigating the shootout.

A prosecutor who failed to win a conviction in the capital murder trial of a former James Madison University student has lost another battle in court.
Rockingham County Circuit Judge Porter Graves Junior yesterday denied Commonwealth's Attorney Douglas Stark's request that a more experienced litigator take over the retrial of Brent Simmons.
25-year-old Simmons was tried in January on charges of capital murder, first-degree murder and weapons charges.
But a mistrial was declared when the jury deadlocked seven-to-five in favor of an acquittal.
Simmons' second trial is set to begin May seventh.

Many of those weapons were six years old.
Officers say the new bullets are faster and can knock a person down more effectively.

Police have not yet released the identity of a Roanoke man who was shot in his home overnight.
Authorities are still looking for the suspect who entered the man's home on 407 Patton Avenue Northwest and shot him in the torso early this morning.
Police say the man's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The victim of TUESDAY's shooting in Roanoke is still in critical condition this morning, but 28-year old Michelle Saunders is *not* expected to survive.
Saunders' boyfriend, 37-year old David Lee Mason, was arraigned on malicious wounding charges yesterday afternoon.

And Roanoke County has reported its first rabies case. Health Officials have confirmed that a bobcat that attacked a man and some pets in the Back Creek area over the weekend was rabid.
