Meat packing company, I.B.P. Incorporated, is recalling more than 280 thousand pounds of beef.
The beef originated at a plant in Joslin, Illinois- and it's already been shipped to stores in numerous states.
The Agriculture department says since the beef was fresh much of it has already been consumed.
IBP say it hasn't heard of anyone getting ill from the beef.
Health departments in all 50 states are on alert for cases of E-coli.
Symptoms include cramps, diarrhea and fever.

Police have charged a Danville man with murder-- after an overnight shooting.
They say Laquan (LA-KWAN) Stone went to his ex-wife's home at the Town and Country Apartments around 1:30 this morning.
That's where he allegedly shot Alvin Averett, Junior in the head.
Stone is in the Danville City Jail tonight, held without bail.

The victim-- 22-year old Teresa Ann Harvey was walking out of her home when she was shot once in the left breast.
Harvey is about seven months pregnant. The fetus' condition is not known.

Rescue workers in Danville have called off their search for the victim of an apparent drowning-- at least for tonight.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the man they believe fell into the Dan River today.
This was the scene at Dan Daniel Memorial Park this evening.
Recovery teams combed the water near this low dam-- where there is a dangerous undertow.
A witness says he saw the man slip from a ledge while he was scooping up fish in a net.
Recovery personnel say if someone gets caught in this undertow, there's not much hope of survival.

A Danville man has been indicted for the January shooting of a religious bookstore owner.
25-year old Joseph Ebans faces charges of malicious wounding and robbery.

Fred Bevill made a full recovery.

A father and son are facing charges after allegedly abusing a ten-year old girl in Bedford.
The girl's 17-year old brother is charged with forcible rape, forcible sodomy and sexual battery. Police say the charges stem from activities over the past four months.
The girl's father is charged with malicious wounding.

They say he'll remain suspended pending the outcome of his court case.

They say she and another woman approached two elderly women Friday-- claiming to have found thousands of dollars.
The con-artists told the senior citizens they would share the money if they put up 10-thousand dollars "in good faith."
The woman caught on this tape helped one of the seniors withdraw 8-thousand dollars from her bank account.

Congressman Rick Boucher says Tazewell, Dickenson and Buchanan counties have each expressed interest in a federal facility.
Officials with the federal bureau of prisons have toured six potential sites and hired a consultant.

Trans States Airlines said it will begin non-stop jet service between Roanoke Regional and Chicago's O'Hare airport sometime this summer.
There will be three flights a day.
The airline expects the service to be popular with business travelers who usually switch planes on the way to Chicago.
A Trans States spokesman said he does not know how much the flights will cost.
But he says they will be "competitive."

Patrick Henry takes in troubled teens from across central Virginia, and officials say the riding program helped the girls learn responsiblity and organization.

Pete Harnisch got a shutout yesterday for the Reds as they beat the Phils 1-to-nothing.
The former Oriole struck out 8, and got a some nice defensive support from his teammates, who were falling out of their seats to lend a helping hand.
