Deputies could not reach rescue workers on the radio.
The sheriff says these 1950's systems will finally be replaced by this time next year -- and the county will build three more radio towers to link deputies, rescue workers, even school buses.
The sheriff says that way -- deputies will not be left in the lurch -- AND they can better respond to emergencies.

Sherriff's deputies believe the 16 year old student driving the car ran a stop sign.

Researchers in London tested the vaccine on patients during a four month trial.
It's made from genetically altered tobacco plants and successfully protects teeth against harmful bacteria.
It contains an anitbody that prevents the bacteria from attacking teeth.
Still that doesn't mean you can throw away your toothbrush.
The vaccine does NOT reverse tooth decay so it will primarily benefit children.

The study examined the long term exercise habits of 373 people.
About a third of them had Alzheimer's.

Last night; Franklin County high school athletic director Jerry Little confirmed that 10 varsity Eagle soccer players have been kicked off the team for the remainder of the season for violation of team rules.
Today; Little said the school is still investigating this matter. One of the topics of the investigation is whether or not athletes from other Franklin County sports team were involved. Little gave few details on the incident that led to the soccer team suspensions. He said it did not involve drugs or violence, but he would not comment on whether a
