In this one, in place of Berlin, two angles Nicolas Cage and Andre Braugher haunt Los Angeles, listening to people's conversation, hanging out in the public library and waiting in hospital rooms to accompany the dead to Heaven.
On an assignment in an operating room, Nicolas Cage's Seth falls in love with Maggie, a young surgeon played by Meg Ryan. After she looses a patient he tries to comfort her and materializes so she can see him. Dennis Frantz, once an angel himself, explains to Seth that he can become human, but it means loosing his immortality to do it. Will he?
City of Angels is an unusual movie. The pace is slow; sometimes very slow, almost a mood piece. There are some interesting visuals, but over all the movie gets a B- for thin characterization and sentimentality.))

A COMMONLY USED TREATMENT FOR HEART ATTACK VICTIMS MAY HELP THEM LIVE EVEN LONGER... IF IT'S GIVEN TO THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
THAT'S ACCORDING TO A REPORT RELEASED IN THE BRITISH MEDICAL JOURNAL.
RESEARCHERS SAY HEART ATTACK PATIENTS WHO WERE GIVEN EMERGENCY TREATMENT OF AN ANTI-CLOTTING DRUG AND ORDINARY ASPIRIN.. WENT ON TO LIVE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER TEN YEARS.

AND IF LIFE'S PRESSURES ARE BRINGING YOU DOWN, YOU'RE NOT ALONE.
THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL SAYS ALMOST NINE PERCENT OF ADULTS IN THE U.S. SUFFER SOME FORM OF MENTAL DISTRESS FOR WEEKS AT A TIME.
AMONG THOSE WHO REPORTED THE HIGHEST RATES OF POOR MENTAL HEALTH: YOUNG ADULTS, LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, AND DIVORCED PEOPLE.
THE CDC HOPES THE FINDINGS WILL HELP HEALTH AGENCIES COME UP WITH BETTER WAYS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.

AND THAT'S A LOOK AT TODAY'S MEDICAL NEWS.

A new report says houses should be in neat clusters-- away from the Village Centers that would hold stores and community facilities.
Shops would have to meet standards-- no strip malls.
Lakefront homes would feature large windows, decks and boat docks.
Owners would fork over the roughly five thousand dollars to rip rap shorelines, AND pay special taxes for lake services.
Developers say all these rules will drive residents away.

Only one house would be allowed per five acres of farmland-- although an industrial park would be built to provide local jobs.
Leaders in the surrounding counties --- Bedford, Pittsylvania, and Franklin -- say these plans will prevent overcro

wding at the lake.
But they say they will hold public hearings before turning any suggestions into law.
