A suspicious early morning fire destroyed a Roanoke apartment building this morning.

The blaze broke out shortly before 3 am at West Creek Manor apartments on Westside Boulevard.
Firefighters arrived to find the entire roof of one building in flames.
7 families were living in the building, but firefighters say it looks like no one was injured in the blaze.

An 18 year old Roanoke man stands charged with the arson of a Rutherford Avenue house in northwest.
David Lamont Banks was apprehended by Roanoke police at his Clifton Street home over the weekend.
Banks was also charged with burglary and grand larceny in connection with a robbery of the same house.
Police suspect Banks did not act alone and are continuing their investigation.
Additional charges are pending.

Seven year old Laquin Khalil was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Police say he suffered a broken right leg and a wound on his head.
The boy's mother, Carmelita R-King, the driver of the pickup and another passenger were also taken to R-M-H.
They suffered minor injuries.
Investigators say Joyce will be charged with failure to yield the right of way.
