A pregnant woman who was shot and wounded last week in southwest Roanoke has been arrested on a drug charge.
22-year-old Teresa Ann Harvey is accused of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Harvey was shot and wounded last Thursday night while on the front porch of her home.
Investigators say that incident does NOT appear to be drug related, at this time.

It left seven families homeless.
Investigators say the fire is "suspicious," but they have not ruled out the possibility that it was an accident.

An eighteen year old man has been arrested in connection with an arson fire at a home in northwest Roanoke.
David Lamont Banks was apprehended at his Clifton Street home over the weekend.
He was also charged with burglary and grand larceny in connection with a robbery at the same house on Rutherford Avenue.
Police believe Banks did not act alone and are continuing their investigation.

Seven-year old Laquin Khalil was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and has since been released.
He suffered a broken leg and head wound. The boy's mother, Carmelita King, the driver of the pickup and another passenger were also taken to R-M-H with minor injuries.
Investigators say Joyce will be charged with failure to yield the right of way.

A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit against the Pulaski County school system.
The suit was filed by 15 year old David Austin who said he was forced to take off his pants for a search of his underwear in March 19-97.
Yesterday a judge dismissed the suit saying officials may have used poor judgment in the search, but school officials had few legal guidelines to follow when deciding how to search students.
