The Mechanical part of the search, called an excavator, has been on the scene from the beginning. Firefighters give credit to the operator, Mark Amos. His deft touch allowed them to recover bodies intact, and uncover pieces of possible evidence.

Firefighters acknowlege it's possible for a fire this intense to completely destory a fire victim's remains.

Rescue workers were driven to continue the search through the day by an unconfirmed report that a woman, unaccounted for, may have been visiting a family here. Now they say, they've done all they can.

48-year old Percy Junior McClease's body was pulled from the rubble.

Willie Caldwell is accused of shooting Kevin Lee Jones on Gilmer Avenue shortly before the fire.

Caldwell lived in the building.
During his arraignment today he said all of his witnesses died in the fire.
The judge set a preliminary hearing in June and appointed an attorney to represent Caldwell.

A day of terror in Florida- ends with three police officers murdered- a 4-year old also killed and the suspect dead as well.

The events began as police were driving the suspect to headquarters for questioning in the shooting death of his four-year old son.
Police say he wriggled out of his handcuffs and fatally shot the two officers in the car.
After fleeing, police say the man killed a Florida State Trooper.
Later the man stopped at a gas station north of Tampa- where he took a female clerk hostage-
170 police officers moved in and surrounded the station.
It was there that the suspect killed himself- the hostage was unharmed.

Twelve days later, the paper claimed a thousand sixty-six.. our figure was 4-oh-7.

In all, the team's average attendance for the six games we saw was more than TWICE what we counted.

A new front entrance, a fresh coat of paint and a pedestrian plaza are all part of the scheduled improvements.

The improvements should be in place by October, when the museum will enter its final phase of renovation.
That includes updating the Pavillion and contructing a new West Gallery.
