But now that 43 other states have settled a consumer protection lawsuit against Virginia-based America Online, Earley's joined the settlement.

But the nation's largest online provider did agree to NOT increase its monthly fees or modify its contract with subscribers without giving 30 days' notice.

A statement to a juror by Judge (Coll-in) Colin Campbell prompted attorneys for Louis Ceparano to move for a mistrial today.

Ceparano is on trial in Grayson County for allegedly burning and beheading a former Marine. In court this afternoon one of the potential jurors made the statement quote "Thou Shall Not Kill" while being quizzed during jury selection.


The judge than said "And an eye for an eye". Ceparano's attorneys quickly moved for a mistrial, saying the statements tainted the jury pool.
But the judge disagreed.
For many local residents, interest in the case has been overwhelming.

Police are looking for a man who has been driving around the Roanoke County area, stopping and exposing himself to women.
Investigators describe the suspect as a white man, slender to medium build, with dark hair. He wears a baseball cap and glasses.
The man drives a white utility vehicle with sliding doors. Anyone with information is asked to call Roanoke County police.

Norfolk Southern has determined what caused that fiery train wreck in Lynchburg earlier this year.

The March 31st derailment sparked a massive blaze after a 65-car train broke loose from a rail yard.
According to the railroad, an employee did not "apply a sufficient number of hand brakes."
Hand brakes are like emergency breaks on cars -- they prevent a parked train from moving.
Norfolk Southern will not say if it is taking any discplinary action.

A 31 year old man is in critical condition after he was hurt on the job at Maco Tool in Christiansburg.
Police say Gary Dudding was struck in the head this morning by a large piece of metal that came off a fly wheel.
Dudding underwent surgery at Columbia Montgomery Regional Hospital.

But a Pittsylvania County man is being tried for her murder.

The prosecution says he intended to kill his wife Melissa.
But attorneys for Abbott say he thought he was shooting at an intruder.
Melissa Abbott's body was found in the front yard of the couple's Keeling home in February 1997.
She suffered a single gunshot to the chest.
Timothy Abbott could face life in prison if he's convicted.
The trial is expected to wrap up tomorrow.

Derrick Lee Coles has been found guilty of malicious wounding.

Bradner was wounded in the abdomen and chest.
The shooting was apparently in retaliation for a shooting earlier that same night in a Hardee's parking lot.

Coles will be sentenced in July.

News 7 sports has learned that the Roanoke Express has reportedly hired Tony Mancuso as the franchise's new general manager. Mancusa was the ECHL Tallahassee Tiger Sharks G.M. during the 1996-97 season. Previously to that, he was Tallahassee's assistant G.M. An official news conference has been called for 10 am Tuesday at the Roanoke Civic center Autitorium.
