This morning prosecutors and defense attorneys are expected to select the final potential juror in the case of Louis Ceparano.

The judge has instructed both sides to select a panel of 24 potential jurors which will eventually be narrowed down to 12 jurors and two alternates.

He was apparently on a riding mower when he ventured into Feather Road on a blind curve.
Police say the driver of the car tried to avoid the victim, but lost control of his vehicle and struck Revilla.

Norfolk Southern has named a cause for a train derailment earlier this year that wreaked havoc in downtown Lynchburg.

The March 31st derailment sparked a massive blaze after a 65-car train broke loose from a rail yard.
According to the railroad, an employee did not "apply a sufficient number of hand brakes."
Hand brakes are like emergency brakes on cars -- they prevent a parked train from moving.
Norfolk Southern will not say if it is taking any discplinary action.

A no contest plea for a 16-year-old honor student who allegedly brought a handgun to Christiansburg High School.
Authorities say the sophomore pulled a loaded pistol from her backpack in February because she was upset with an ex-boyfriend.
Friends reportedly grabbed the gun and unloaded it.
A juvenile court judge yesterday said a judgement will not be made in the case until the girl is sentenced.

Now tobacco businesses across Virginia may boycott the state's largest health insurer-
Unions that represent Philip Morris workers in the Richmond area have labelled Trigon "the enemy" and are pushing for the boycott.

A Waynesboro man has pleaded guilty to two minor burning law violations involving a 400-acre fire on Afton Mountain. Kirk Johnson was fined 550 dollars yesterday. He also was ordered to pay almost 31-thousand dollars in restitution -- the cost of fighting the April 2nd fire.

A Pittsylvania County man has had his murder conviction overturned by the Virginia Court of Appeals.

Back in 1996, a jury found Paul Dalton Junior guilty of killing 72-year old Clark Adkins and burying his body.
But last week, the Virginia Court of Appeals ruled that the lower court did NOT properly instruct the jury.
The problem: the jury was not told that they could have found Dalton guilty of being "an accessory after the fact" if they could not convict him of murder.
Dalton's sister and her boyfriend were also convicted in connection with the murder.
No word if Dalton can OR WILL be retried.

A guilty verdict in the trial of a man charged with shooting another man at the Danville Regional Medical Center.

Derrick Lee Coles was convicted of malicious wounding.

Bradner was wounded in the abdomen and chest.
