The first report was that a man from Bedford County had threatened to kill the President's daughter, Chelsea Clinton.
Today we learned Edmond Coffey wrote letters- threatening bodily harm to Chelsea AND BILL Clinton.

Two Campbell County students are learning the hard way not to make jokes about weapons and violence at school.

The Brookville High School seniors were suspended for the rest of the year after they joked about having weapons on school grounds.
Educators say recent shootings on school campuses around the country have prompted them to take a "zero tolerance" approach to these kinds of situations.

F-A-A inspectors say the twin engine plane that crashed late yesterday afternoon in Floyd DID have fuel in its tanks.
The crash left the plane's pilot in stable condition while his passenger remains critical.

While F-A-A officials worked to determine the cause of the crash...crews began clearing away the debris left dangling when the plane clipped several trees on its way down.
The plane, with two occupants on board, was enroute from North Carolina to Lewisburg when it crashed.
The pilot, Robert Anderson, is in the hospital with two broken legs.
He did NOT want to appear on camera but says he and his passenger knew they were in trouble when the right engine began losing power, which coupled with wind sheer, threw the plane, off course.
Anderson says he'd hoped to reach Roanoke but soon realized they wouldn't make it and began aiming for an open field.
But it was too late-- and the plane crashed between two houses.
Ford Wirt, who's the county's emergency services coordinator, praised the EMS volunteers' efforts.

Yesterday he was indicted and charged with interstate domestic violence after he allegedly kidnapped his estranged wife and five kids from the Lake Norman home near Charlotte and drove them to Virginia.
He could get 10 years in prison and a $250 thousand dollar fine.

((With the owners, media and boosters on hand, Tony Mancuso took over the GM role under an employment agreement with the Express, not a contract. The deal, which does not have a definite length, is filled with incentives; indicating Mancuso's confidence to generate attendance and revenue for the Express through his marketing focus.

The 35 year old has a wife and three sons. He spent three and a half years with the ECHL's Tallahassee Tiger Sharks where he served as GM during the 1996-97 season. The team played at Leon county arena. The surrounding area's population base is near 200 thousand, strikingly similar to Roanoke's. Mancuso is also a former police officer, a job that taught him about understanding people.

Phyllis Martin is the principal at Cone Elementary school and when her children exceeded their reading goal, she became a human sundae.
Ms. Martin was covered from head to toe in ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles and of course a cherry.
She said she was glad to do it as long as it helped the children appreciate reading.
