While F-A-A officials worked to determine the cause of the crash...crews began clearing away the debris left dangling when the plane clipped several trees on its way down.
The plane, with two occupants on board, was enroute from North Carolina to Lewisburg when it crashed.
The pilot, Robert Anderson, is in the hospital with two broken legs.
He did NOT want to appear on camera but says he and his passenger knew they were in trouble when the right engine began losing power, which coupled with wind sheer, threw the plane, off course.
Anderson says he'd hoped to reach Roanoke but soon realized they wouldn't make it and began aiming for an open field.
But it was too late-- and the plane crashed between two houses.
Ford Wirt, who's the county's emergency services coordinator, praised the EMS volunteers' efforts.
