That's what Roanoke Police officer Jim Donaldson told a federal jury today.
At the time he used that move, arresting Eric Scott Lee- -five years ago- -Donaldson called it a "choke hold."
In testimony today Donaldson said that's not what it was.

Kevin Doty is facing five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The girl says they had a sex on several occasions during the fall of 19-97.

Jacob Beard has been serving time for killing two female hitchhikers nearly 20 years ago.
Now his attorneys say prosecutors improperly used Beard's statements to develop their case.
The West Virginia Supreme Court will decide whether Beard will get a new trial.
Beard was convicted in 1993 for killing two women who were on their way to a Rainbow Family reunion in Pocahontas County.

Police could not explain why robbers seem to like the bank.

A Montgomery County teenager died this morning after accidentally striking a power line.
It happened in the back yard of the young man's home on Five Points Road in Riner.
Sheriff's investigators say 16-year old Robert Earl Tuell (Tool) was mowing the lawn, stopped to move a piece of metal pipe which struck an overhead power line.
Tuell was pronounced dead at the scene.
