Some major heroin suppliers to the Roanoke Valley will be spending time behind bars.
Yesterday fourteen people pleaded guilty to various charges.
The ring had been supplying heroin that resulted in three fatal overdoses beginning in 19-96.
After police busted the ring authorities say the local heroin market temporarily dried up.
The case against the alleged ring leader, Rosalind Arrington, comes up tomorrow.[WOODHAM-TRIAL]

It's not about remote control.
It's about being in control.
It's the perfect slogan for the latest in home video technology.
We'll get to that.
But it's also about Virginia-based retail giant Circuit City showing once again why it's in control of the home electronics market.
The product's called DIVX.
[sot 14:32:21]
((DIVX WAS DEVELOPED FOR THE FOLKS WHO ARE RENTING A LOT OF MOVIES. WHO GO OUT TO THE VIDEO RENTAL STORE ON A FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT AND ARE FRUSTRATED WITH THE HASSLE OF TAKING IT BACK. OF NOT GETTING THE MOVIES THEY WANT.))
[runs:13]
DVD came out last year-- those discs are fairly expensive.
You buy a DIVX digital disk for just under five bucks.
And you never have to return it.
But you have a 48 hour window to watch the whole movie, that starts when you cursor down to play on the menu.
[sot 14:18:21]
((THE DISCS DO NOT SELF DISTRUCT. THEY WILL PLAY AGAIN AND AGAIN. THERE'S A PERFECTLY GOOD MOVIE ON THAT DISK THAT NEVER GOES AWAY.))
[runs:08]
So if you want to watch again, it will charge you again.
Or you can pay up a fee like $12.50 for unlimited viewings.
How does DIVX know how many times you watch?
Your own machine dials into a main computer once a month and tells on you.
It's the closest thing yet to movies on demand.
[sot STANDUP tape two 15:03:02 ]
((REMEMBER BEFORE YOU THROW OUT THE VCR AND SHELL OUT MAYBE 400 DOLLARS FOR DVD OR 500 DOLLARS FOR THE DIVX, THERE'S STILL A LIMITED NUMBER OF TITLES, AND THE ABILITY TO TAPE OFF OF TV IS STILL FIVE TO TEN YEARS OUT IN THE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY.))
[runs:18]
This year, you can only buy these in Richmond or San Francisco- the test markets.
