A jet skiing accident on Smith Mountain Lake yesterday afternoon reportedly killed one person and seriously injured another.

It happened at Bernard's Landing at about 3:15.
According to the area's security guard two jet skiers collided.
Rescue crews at the scene confirmed that one of the skiers died.
The other was taken to Bedford County Hospital.

A Martinsville man was shot to death this weekend and police say they have a suspect.
26-year-old Kenneth Lee Bruce was shot in the head while a group of people were gathered on Harden Road Saturday morning.
Police say Bruce was also hit by a car leaving the scene.
Another man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg.

One person was killed in a car accident in Allegheny County last night, and the driver of the vehicle is facing reckless driving charges.
State police say Francis Barnett lost control of her car on Interstate 64 before running into the median and overturning.
Her passenger, whose identity has not been released, died at the scene.
And in a separate accident in Henry County, state police say alcohol was likely involved in an accident that killed one driver.
Authorities say the woman was killed after she ran off of Route 87 and hit a guardrail.

Harris went into the kitchen of the house the couple rents and noticed flames coming from the water heater.
No one was injured and the fire department helped clear out the smoke.

150 Delaware prisoners were transferred to the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt Saturday.
That puts the overall number of Delaware inmates at 300.
Virginia has plenty of space to house prisoners thanks, in part, to prisons built during George Allen's administration.

The Roanoke Valley Horse show in Salem will be two participants short after an accident yesterday.
A trailer carrying two horses tore loose from it's truck yesterday on Route 24 near Stewartsville.
Rescue crews had to cut the trailer to free the animals.
Both horses suffered cuts and were taken to the Virginia Tech Animal Hospital, one with a punctured lung.
