Football tailgate parties are the subject of controversy at the University of Virginia.
The Alcoholic Beverage control board says the parties have been operating illegally for years.
Now UVA officials are seeking licenses for the tailgate parties.
In response to underage binge-drinking, a University task force HAD recently recommended banning alcohol at tailgating events, but UVA's Board of Visitors nixed that idea.
