A South Boston man is dead after an Amtrack train collided with his tractor-trailer in Durham, North Carolina.

Ten people on board the train en route to New York were injured.

31-year old Dwayne Bowman was living at the hotel when it was a home for handicapped adults.
He said shortly after midnight on August 23rd, he heard voices telling him he was worthless, he could not get to sleep, and he was angry at his counselor.

So he says he lit the curtains on fire with a cigarette lighter.
He says he did not realize the whole building would go up in flames.
Bowman will undergo a psychiatric evaluation and be sentenced on September 10th.

The American Civil Liberties Union says it opposes the idea of local ministers teaching the course.
However, Parry McCluer administrators say the school's current Spanish teacher would be the instructor.
They say, local ministers would then be invited as guestspeakers to occasionally lecture students.
So far, only two students have signed up.

Legislation is now being considered in Virginia to allow violent sex criminals to be put in state mental health facilities upon their release from prison.

The Callaway Biggest Big Bertha all the way to the Mega 350 Confidence, the biggest club on the market these days, have raised concerns that science and technology are ruining the integrity of golf.
Doug Kenney, who owns Dr. Golf in Roanoke County says leaving the market place alone benefits everyone.

The lake's high water level was posing a threat to boaters.
El Nino is getting the blame.
Officials say the last time all three flashboards were opened was in 19-83, which was also an El Nino year.
