Unless Governor Gilmore steps in to stop it, Dennis Wayne Eaton will be put to death tonight for a killing spree that ended in Salem nine years ago and claimed the life of a state trooper among four victims.
The trooper's son will be there to witness the execution.

31-year-old Dwayne Bowman says he was hearing voices and couldn't sleep the night of the fire.

He says he set his curtains on fire with a cigarette lighter, but had no idea the building would burn down.
Some 30 residents of the home for adults were safely evacuated.
But the building was a total loss.
Bowman will be sent to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation. He'll be sentenced in September.
