He was the 51st Virginia inmate to be executed in modern times.
Last night, Dennis Wayne Eaton was put to death for a killing spree nine years ago that left four dead- including a state trooper.

A South Boston man died when his tractor trailer was hit by an Amtrak passenger train in North Carolina.

The accident ripped the truck apart, throwing 39-year old John Allen Wilkerson from the cab.
Ten people on board the train en route to New York were injured.
Officials are investigating the crash.

Two days after Senate Republicans killed the multi-billion dollar tobacco bill House Republicans are promised their own version of a bill to curb teen smoking.
Many Virginians are keeping a close eye on the tobacco debate.

Even though there were provisions to keep farmers from going bankrupt, C.D. Bryant said [cigarette factory video] the bill forced the tobacco industry to pay billions of dollars and get nothing in return.
Health advocates said even if the bill had faults, it could've done a lot to stop smoking.

In Botetourt County, a man sparking the blaze the heavily damaged the Hotel Botetourt but claims he was mentally ill at the time.

31-year-old Dwayne Bowman pleaded guilty to arson yesterday.
He was living in the historic Hotel, when it was a home for disabled adults.

Bowman says he saw an image of his stepfather calling him no good, and he was angry at his counselor, so he lit his bedroom curtains on fire with a cigarette lighter.
