The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors and the School Board have buried their latest disagreement to keep school construction projects on course.
Last week, the County Supervisors halted funding

Today, the school board gave its okay to the committee, which will include two school board members, two supervisors, the school superintendent and county administrator.

A federal judge today issued a temporary restraining order.
It would indefinitely halt a U.S. Department of Agriculture plan to round up and slaughter about 13- hundred Canadian geese across the state.
The Humane Society challenged the slaughter plan this year.
Last year, about 17- hundred geese were killed in Virginia by the U-S-D-A -- which labels the birds a nuisance and a health hazard.
The U-S-D-A will NOT release the Virginia sites it had planned for the geese round-up this year.

Today, he found one of them shot dead in a wooded area on his property.

Charlie Huddy, the has resigned as head coach of the Huntington Blizzard to become a full-time assistant with the New York Rangers.
Huddy won five Stanley cups as a player with the Oilers. He led Huntington to its best record ever last season.

((For the first time in his life, David Cabbler will get into a plane Friday and fly to Russia for two weeks...
He will try and raise his level of intensity another notch as he represent Northside, the Roanoke Valley, and his country over the fourth of July holiday in sevral track and field competitions. ((:))
Cabbler and 20 other Virginia high school athletes were invited by a Russian education and sports organization to compete against the top athletes in schools from the Russian Federation. The purpose is not only to compete, but to meet and build friendships with youths and their families in Russia. ((:)) ((:)) ((:))
The Inner City Athletic Association supports him. His father, who sevral years ago, at age 35 had a massive heart attack has also been inspired. This trip is the pennicle so far in a promising track career. ((:))
