Just after five, deputies were called to this home in the Happy Valley subdivision near Rustburg.
Authorities say a four-year old boy got a hold of a gun and accidentally shot his one-year old sister in the head.
The child was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where her condition has NOT been released.
Sheriff Robert Maxey says it will be up to the commonwealth's attorney to decide whether the parents should face criminal charges.
