Whitney and Kevin were one of three couples in a Honda Accord southbound on I-81.
It was pooring rain when the driver of the car tried to pass another vehicle.
The car hydroplaned, crossed the median and crashed into a northbound tractor trailor.

None of the victims were identified by authorities, but after Travis Rogers confirmed for State Police, that his sister was one of the deceased, he felt compelled to speak out about the accident.

Question: When are we going to know something about the rest of the victims?
Congressman Bob Goodlatte is trying to crack down on telemarketing fraud.
During the last session of Congress, Goodlatte helped introduce a bill that would make telemarketing fraud a criminal act.
President Clinton recently signed it into law.
Goodlatte also continues to focus on other issues that victimize older citizens.
He plans to meet with seniors at Northside Middle School this week to discuss concerns ranging from social security to medicare.

The meeting will take place on Thursday from nine in the morning until noon.
Last summer there were signs of the E-Coli bacteria at Smith Mountain Lake.
Recently, students from Ferrum College went back to the lake
to test the water quality there.

Seven students and a professor cast off every two weeks, to test 14 lakesites for fecal coliform.
That's bacteria from warm-blooded animals' waste -- cows, for example, or even people.

First stop: busy Indian Point marina.
The team expects to find more bacteria here -- some boats flush sewage, illegally, into the water.

Despite the recent raw sewage spill into the Roanoke River -- and the e-coli outbreak here last summer -- they say the lake water is clean.

Someday -- students hope to be able to match each sample of fecal coliform to a specific animal -- to track its source.
But they say, that breakthrough won't come today.

What's overweight and what's not?
According to standards set by the National Institute of Health, more than 55% of all Americans are overweight.
But are the standards too strict?

In Roanoke County, it's another big money contract for the company that helps soldiers see at night.
I-T-T Night Vision signed a 172-million dollar deal to supply thousands of goggles to the U.S. Army.
The real-estate company that owns Roanoke's First Union tower and the land around Valley View Mall is about to merge.
Faison and Associates was bought by national giant Trammell Crow Company for 39-million dollars.
They're already tearing up the ground upon which one of the country's most fabled eateries will be built.
The International House of Pancakes -- IHOP -- will open restaurants in Roanoke and Christiansburg this fall.

The Dow recovered to close above nine-thousand again.

And Pete Sampras wins his fifth men's title tieing the modern day Wimbledon men's record.
After his first round match at the All england Club, Pete Sampras talked about burnout. He had struggled and made an early exit at the French.
But today, Sampras beat Goran Ivanisevic in five sets to capture his fifth Wimbledon title.

It was by far the toughest match of the tournament for Sampras.
Ivanisevic, who won sets 1 and 4, cranked out 32 aces but he also had 20 double faults and that would end his shot at his first grand slam title.
Sampras wasn't as successful with his big serve but his volley and net game would take him to the five set victory, and his 11-th grand slam title.

Pro-players and former U-V-A stars Tiki and Ronde barber were joined by high school football coaches and college and high school players, in running the football camp.
