A group of Roanoke eye doctors says this may not be the end of its quest to open an independent eye surgery center.

The doctors, who form the Vistar Eye Center, now perform all of their surgeries at Carilion Community Hospital in Roanoke and Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem.

The doctors won overwhelming approval for their proposed center from a local board of health directors.

78 people were arrested when Roanoke police searched suspected drug houses in the Lincoln Terrace Housing complex.

In addition, authorities were able to confiscate 26-firearms and more than 24-thousand dollars in drug money. They also found crack cocaine and marijuana worth about 56-hundred dollars.
Police say compaints from residents initiated the six month sting operation.
