The Gilmore administration pushed UNsuccessfully this year for legislation that would have changed the health commissioner's job requirements.
The commissioner currently has to be a medical doctor.
The administration had tried to drop that requirement.
In other Gilmore administration news, the long-troubled Department of Environmental Quality has once again undergone reorganization.
A re-structuring two years ago drew criticism from the Joint Legislative Audit Review Commission.
