The homemade plane clipped a powerline as it tried to land in a field, only to skid the entire length and into a line of pine trees.

Pilot Claude Hess walked away from the accident.
State police say Hess had just bought the kit-made plane in North Carolina and was flying home to West Virginia when his engine started cutting on and off.
He decided to try to land in the Hillsville field.

Fire investigators ruled today that arson was the cause of the fire on Campbell Avenue.
Robert Early was trying to keep the blaze away from the two neighboring homes when the porch collapsed on him, fracturing his back, breaking his ribs and puncturing his lung.
A local fire chief says Earley's injuries are the worst ever suffered by a city firefighter in the line of duty, but doctors say his prognosis is excellent.

Andrews jumped from his truck, grabbed a garden hose and tried putting out the fire.

This week will be the first British Open Nicklaus has missed since 1962, after deciding to end his streak of 154 consecutive majors.

This is Iverson's Mercedes that was seized yesterday after it was involved in a drug deal in Norfolk.
Iverson loaned the car to two of his long time friends who in turn were caught selling cocaine and marijuana out of the car in a Tidewater neighborhood.
Iverson was not in the car and he has not been charged, but under Virginia law cars used in drug activity can be permanently confiscated.
Last August, Iverson was in another car with friends that was stopped near Richmond and a 45 calibre pistol was found under his seat and marijuana was found in the car.

It's an intense four day experience in which the goalies face about one THOUSAND shots a day.
