Lynchburg police have identified the man found dead in a burning car Sunday morning.

According to dental records the victim is 21-year-old Peter Spyropoulas (spy-roh-po-liss), from Arlington, Massachusetts.
The car was rented in the victim's name.
Police say he was shot in the head and the car set on fire to cover up the crime.
Investigators are still trying to find out why Spyropoulas was in Lynchburg.

A 22-year-old Rocky Mount man was killed today in an early morning car accident.
Police say Jason Christopher Perdue was driving west on Route 693 in Boone's Mill around 4:15 this morning.
They say his car veered off the road, struck a utility pole and a tree, then plunged into a creek.
Police say Perdue died at the scene.
He was the only person in the car.

Four children have died of heat stroke in a bizarre accident in New Mexico.

The father of two of the children drove around the city of Gallup looking for the children, unaware that they were trapped in the trunk of his car.
