The man who killed a Roanoke County real estate agent eight years ago was put to death last night in Jarratt.
Danny Lee King uttered no last words before his death by lethal injection.

She's charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing her eight-month old daughter Brooke to death.
It happened in the home Alley's parents live in Figsboro.
She's also charged with felony child abuse for allegedly throwing the little girl on the floor last October.
Both charges against Alley will be combined into one trial.

More than twenty people have been arrested following drug raids in Rockbridge County.

So far they've arrested 21 people on drug related charges, including eleven people in Buena Vista.

Police confiscated powder and crack cocaine, methamphetamines, marijuana and prescription drugs.
In all, the confiscated drugs had a street value of 100 thousand dollars.

State police say alcohol and speed played a part in an accident that killed one person late last night in Franklin County.
State police say 18-year-old Robert Josiah Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene after he drove off of Route 7-18 on a curve.
Bailey and his passenger, 18-year-old Kenneth Lewis Lynch, were both thrown from the vehicle.
Lynch was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Officials there are NOT releasing his condition.

A Lnchburg woman is in stable condition this morning after she was reportedly beaten by her husband with a baseball bat.

Police say 21- year- old Bobby Calloway was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital with wounds to her head and arms.
Her husband.. 45- year- old Jessee Calloway.. was arrested at the scene without incident.
He's been charged with malicious wounding.
Authorities say the couple has a history of domestic problems.

This Fall, V-M-I is expecting thirty-five women to enroll in its second coed class.
The incoming group of women includes 14 Virginians.
School officials say it also includes Angelica Garza.
She was among the school's first co-ed class but was suspended in September for striking an upperclassman.
