((It began when an employee of this audio store called police, complaining about a customer who was acting strangely.

The man left the store on foot. 24-year old Deputy Rodney Thompson caught up with the suspect along Timberlake Road in Lynchburg. When Thompson confronted the suspect, he recovered a handgun from him. But, when the deputy tried to arrest the man, the suspect ran off. A chase and struggle ensued.

A woman was seriously injured tonight in Roanoke after she was hit by a truck.

The accident happened along Williamson Road around nine this evening.
A witness said the woman was crossing the street when a truck slammed into her.
The woman was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Police have blocked off both lanes of Williamson Road near the 23-hundred block--while they continue to investigate the accident.

42 year old Deborah Simmons was arrested in Patrick County today for the murder of her live-in boyfriend Winford Gray Epperson of Ararat.
Authorities say Epperson died from a single gunshot wound to the head Friday morning.
Simmons called the rescue squad and then fled.
She was named a suspect yesterday after police found a shot gun in the truck she was driving.
Authorities believe it's the murder weapon.

King shot a 73 yesterday and he's tied for 16-th place at 220.

But Raymond Floyd continues to lead the Senior event.
Floyd shot a 73 yesterday that included this long putt to save par on the fourth hole. Floyd is at 213 and he has a three stroke lead on Hale Irwin who is tied for second place with Isao Aoki and Dave Stockton.

Ron Hornaday overcame three late race restarts to win the Pikes Peak 300k.

Ridgeway's Jimmy Hensley had his shot at the win he was leading the race with about 50 laps lef to go.
The caution flag would fly three times near the end of the race setting the field up for a shootout.
After the final caution Hornaday pulled away to get the victory and he also moved into first place in the points race.

Dale Earnhardt Junior led for over 200 laps but he was penalized a lap for bumping on the track Earnhardt finished 13-th.
That opened the door for Tim Fedewa and he would win the race under caution after a crash on the white flag lap. It's Fedewa's second win of the season.
