Last Thursday J-P "Buster" Vaughn filed a lawsuit in Lynchburg federal court against tobacco companies.

Vaughn seeks unspecified damages on behalf of a million Virginians who bought tobacco products in the last 25 years.

Gordon won the Brickyard 400 taking the checkered flag under caution.

Gordon took the point early in the race he was leading the field after 33 laps of the event.
Jeremy Mayfield was running second behind Gordon but he would hit the wall damaging the front end of his car two laps later on lap 35.
Dale Jarrett in the Quality Care ford made his move and he would pass Gordon on the inside for the lead taking Jeff Burton with him, but Burton was 18 laps down.
Then problems for Rusty Wallace he blows a tire and has to take his car to the pits.
Jarrett was running strong but he ran out of gas and the long coast to pit row would put him down four laps by the time he returned to the race track.
Defending champion Ricky Rudd made his move and he was running in the 8-th position with less than 30 laps to go.
Mark Martin worked his way to the front and with 17 laps to go he moved into second place after passing Bobby Labonte.

The N-F-L Hall of Fame game between Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay was held this evening in Canton, Ohio.
And Tampa Bay wins it 30 to 6.
Before the game, Five former players were inducted into the Hall of Fame. They are Bears linebacker Mike Singletary, Viking Safety Paul Krause Cincinnati tackle anthony Munoz, Miami center Dwight Stephenson and Eagles wide receiver Tommy McDonald.

The New York Jets have signed controversial linebacker Bryan Cox. He joins the jets just a day after the Jets lost linebacker Marvin Jones for the season with a Knee injury.
Cox has been fined more than 100-thousand dollars in his career in Miami and Chicago.

Kin-san and Gin-san have made quite a name for themselves in their native country.
They've appeared in television commercials and several advertisements--all because of their age.
Today they each turned 106 years old.
And, one sister said she still feels young.
They celebrated their birthdays with family and friends and received gold and silver kimonos as presents.
