Michael Irvine, the attorney representing Rebecca's paternal grandparents told the Washington Post the families actually met last night.
Irvine said the family rescheduled the meeting because they were afraid they'd be followed by reporters.
He said the children were not present, neither were the lawyers, and everything went well.
The family is still waiting for the results of DNA tests.
Meanwhile the state health department is now investigating the University of Virginia Medical Center where the alleged switch took place.
The department is looking into what procedures the hospital had in place, and whether the procedures were followed.
