The problem is, not everyone volunteered to pay.

Students going back to school have to cope with more than just homework this year.

The ninety degree weather and no air conditioning made itjust too hot for class at Franklin County high school.
Students were let out at one-thirty.
Windows and doors were opened for ventilation in the morning.
Benjamin Franklin middle school and the Center for Applied Technology and Career Exploration do have air conditioning but students there were also bused home early.
All three schools use the same transportation.

39 year old Victoria Sands is facing first degree murder charges and is being held without bond.

at 29, Blundin is studying for his masters at UVa and is the offensive coordinator at first year, double A Monticello high where he tutors the Mustangs three quarterbacks.

Blundin set Virginia's record for consecutive passes without an interception. But in 5 years, he played in only three NFL games, attempted 9 passes with two interceptions. His last, came with the Detroit Lions against the Redskins. While his NFL career was brief, Blundin has no regrets.

The P-G-A's Senior Series golf tour is planning to make a stop in Lynchburg this Fall.

More than a hundred and forty senior pros will take part in a tournament at the Ivy Hills golf club the week of October 12th.
The tournament will feature a 100- thousand dollar purse, and will be carried by the Golf Channel.
City leaders, who announced the event yesterday, say that should help put Lynchburg on the sports map.
