Good Evening...
The eye of Hurricane Bonnie is bearing down on North Carolina. Power is out -- and the storm is only beginning to punish the eastern seaboard. Winds have topped 70mph in Wilmington and tornadoes are possible all along the coast. The storm has ripped part of the roof from a hospital near Cape Fear, and knocked out power to 100-thousand people.
Maureen Maher has the latest from the Outer Banks.

Rodney Gill shot 19- year- old LaKisha Stockton last August as she lay in bed, trying to protect her face with her arm.

Gill's attorney said the shooting was an accident.
But this nine millimeter pistol had two working safety locks and required extra pressure to fire.
