It's 12 years behind bars, for a former Radford University student convicted of setting a fraternity house fire that killed one person.

Under Virginia law, Michael Harvey will have to serve 85- percent of that time in prison.
Harvey pleaded guilty to arson and second degree murder, back in May.
The fire claimed the life of 21- year old Christopher Mirch who was asleep inside the Radford fraternity house when it was torched two years ago.
Prosecutors say this is a tragic case because they don't believe Harvey intended to kill anyone when he set fire to
a piece of furniture as revenge--- for an earlier dispute involving his friends.

His lawyer said Vaden has been punished enough by loosing his job.

A small cargo jet skidded off a runway today at the El Paso International Airport and through a busy city street striking three cars. The initial impact sparked a fire. One motorist was injured and taken to a hospital. Witnesses say the plane apparently blew a tire while landing and skidded off the runway onto the airport road. A public relations firm is getting paid to help boost the image of the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Cookerly and Company specializes in public relations crises at hospitals. It was hired after word got out that U-V-A's hospital apparently switched two babies at birth three years ago.

Six former V-M-I cadets- -dismissed from the Virginia Military Institute during the last school year- -are getting their cases reviewed by the Board of Visitors this weekend.
The six challenged the rulings of V-M-I's Honor Court, citing mid-night interrogations about beating incidents involving freshmen.
Though Judge James Turk told them he saw some serious Constitutional issues, the judge said they'd have to exhaust their appeals first.
So that's what they're doing.
In a separate, unrelated case- -Brian Benken has abandoned his complaint against V-M-I. Benken's lawyers declined to say why the Northern Virginia cadet chose not to pursue the case.
