The Blacksburg Police Department is facing charges of sexual harassment.
Alicia LaChance has filed a claim against the department, alleging, among other things, that when she was interviewed for a job she was asked whether she'd slept with some police officers.
She'd been on the Christiansburg police force before Blacksburg hired her in February of 1996.

A judge has ruled that the heirs to Horace Fralin's fortune are NOT entitled to an IRS refund on the late developer's estate.
The heirs sued the government, trying to force the I-R-S to cough up a refund worth 3-quarters of a million dollars.
They claimed changes in federal estate and gift taxes should have been applied retroactively, but judge Jackson Kiser didn't buy the argument.
