Residents have placed a cross of flowers on the grass next to the site in rememberence of their neighbor and to warn other motorists about the dangers of the road. A man charged with attacking a woman outside of Lynchburg General Hospital pleaded guilty yesterday in court.

57-year old John Major Haygood tried to abduct Melanie Curnute (ker-NOOT) at knifepoint the night of April 28th.
Curnute managed to escape and a bystander chased Haygood down and held him until police arrived.
Haygood could receive up to 30 years in prison when he's sentenced in October.
Curnute is considering legal action against the hospital for failing to prevent the attack.
