A guilty plea yesterday from a man charged with attacking a woman at knifepoint outside Lynchburg General Hospital last spring.

57-year old John Major Haygood tried to abduct Melanie Curnute (ker-NOOT) at knifepoint the night of April 28th.
Curnute managed to escape and a bystander chased Haygood down and held him until police arrived.
Haygood could receive up to 30 years in prison when he's sentenced in October.
Curnute is considering legal action against the hospital for failing to prevent the attack.

In Tanzania, A U-N tribunal today found a Rwandan ex-mayor guilty of genocide.
It happened in 19-94 when more than 500 thousand Rwandans were killed.

Roanoke County's Clearbrook community wants a nearby stretch of Route 220 made more safe for drivers.
A woman was killed recently after she tried to pull out onto 220 from the Back Creek intersection.
So residents came out last night to request some changes from V-Dot.
But V-Dot says the requested safety measures lack funding, and would take a lot of time to put in place.

Lynchburg's school board deemed one video about sex to be too graphic last night, so the the video will be removed from sex education classes.
Meantime the board APPROVED a video on abusive relationships, that some educators say is simply too violent.
Several citizens picketed last night's meeting becuase the board has yet to respond to charges that the school system is disciminating against black students and hiring too few black teachers.

The family has raised Rebecca Chittum since she was switched with Johnson 3 years ago.
