A Bedford County teenager has been charged with the murder of a Liberty High School classmate.

The suspect is a 16- year old. He is accused of killing 17-year old (Ja-MEL) Jamelle Poindexter-- a popular student and football player.

Yesterday morning-- his body was found in a remote area of Montvale.
Authorities also believe the suspect stole Poindexter's car and later sold it.
Sheriff's investigators say statements from the 16-year old suspect led them to the body.

A Roanoke man found dead in his R-V over the weekend was a victim of strangulation.
Police say a shirt was wrapped around the neck of 49-year-old Charles Mandakis, Senior.
His body was discovered in his vehicle on Route 220 in Roanoke County, near the Franklin County line.
The case is under investigation; detectives can't say for sure yet that Mandakis was murdered.

Richard Chisom Jr. served 18 months behind bars before he was released at his sentencing yesterday.

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors has approved plans for the store, despite opposition from County residents AND members of the board.

Defense attorneys were successful in delaying the extradition of Caroll Eugene Humphries.
The Covington man is charged with plotting a 22 year old murder in West Virginia.
Yesterday defense attorneys argued that investigators have the wrong man.
