A 16-year-old is in custody this morning, charged with the murder of a high school classmate in Bedford County.

Authorities also believe the suspect stole Poindexter's car and later sold it.

Strangulation caused the death of Roanoke man found in his RV over the weekend.
Police say a shirt was wrapped around the neck of 49-year-old Charles Mandakis, Senior.
His body was discovered in his vehicle on Route 220 in Roanoke County, near the Franklin County line.
The case is under investigation; detectives can't say for sure yet that Mandakis was murdered.

A Bedford County 16-year-old is charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of a Liberty High School classmate.
The body of 17-year-old (Ja-MEL) Jamelle Poindexter was discovered yesterday morning in a remote area of Montvale.
Investigators believe the suspect stole Poindexter's car and sold it.

Despite the opposition of several Roanoke County residents, the Board of Supervisors approved plans last night for a Home Depot store near Cave Spring Corners.
In August, the supervisors actually refused to rezone the property.
But Bob Johnson had resolved a conflict of interest.
The supervisors reconsidered the vote, and rezoned the parcel.
