((The accident happened on Yellow Sulfur Road near South Main Street in Blacksburg. Police say Richard M-Keister, a Virginia Tech freshman, apparently lost control of his S-U-V.
Keister and his passenger Natalie R-Weir, a Radford University freshman, were thrown from the vehicle. Investigators say they found alcohol on the scene and consider it to be a factor in the accident. Students who live in Keister's dormitory were surprised to learn of the accident.

The accident comes just three weeks after Attorney General Mark Earley visited Tech, asking freshmen to help reduce underage and binge drinking at the state's colleges. Some students say the warning signs about underage and binge drinking are posted on and off campus. But they insist that some of their classmates will never learn.

23 people are confirmed dead, 300 were rescued, many by passing fishing boats.
Officials were puzzled by the sinking. The boat is the largest of its kind on the islands, and is supposed to be able to handle rough weather.
Survivors say 75 mile an hour winds, and three powerful waves in a row forced the ship under.
They say many people were asleep when the storm hit, and there was no warning from the ship's crew.

Officials say the car was headed northbound along 220 when the driver reached to turn the radio station and lost control.
Witnesses say she crossed 220, and flipped over several times.
