First to Bedford, where authorities have charged a SECOND teenager with the murder of a Liberty High School student over the Labor Day weekend.

16-year old Randy Ross was arrested September 7th for the shooting death of Jamelle Poindexter.
Now authorities are charging Ross's 16-year old girlfriend with murder as well.
The teen had originally faced just robbery charges for the theft of Poindexter's car.
But investigators say new information has led them to charge the girl with murder, robbery and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Both are being held in the Lynchburg juvenile detention home.

A Virginia idea to fight binge drinking on college campuses may be used nationwide.
A bill sponsored by Virginia Senator John Warner has now passed both houses of Congress, and awaits presidential approval.
It would knock down privacy laws that make it difficult for colleges to notify parents when a student has broken a drinking or drug-related law or policy.

A former teacher pleaded guilty in Wythe County circuit court today to 12 charges relating to a sexual relationship with one of his students.

Blevins was the girl's eighth grade science teacher at Rural Retreat high school.

Louisiana truck driver John Franklin remains in critical condition at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was severely burned in last week's pile-up on Interstate 81.
But nine other people who were injured in that accident are now out of the hospital and on the mend.
